Climate conscious business Germany

(Capital)

In 2021, the business magazine Capital, together with the market research company Statista, compared the carbon footprints of 2,000 German companies for the second time in a row (Issue 2/2022).
The results of this study show that climate protection is becoming increasingly important in the German economy. This is impressively demonstrated by the reduction rate of CO2 emissions data from 2,000 publicly listed corporations, large SMEs and family businesses in Germany.

We at SaarLB find ourselves in 63rd place in this ranking of many well-known companies also focused on sustainability. We are pleased with the ranking and simultaneously the acknowledgement of our many years of commitment in this area – for example, we have been operating our main site in a climate-neutral manner since 2015.

Prime status

(ISS ESG, formerly oekom research)

SaarLB has been addressing the issue of sustainability not only since the publication of its sustainability strategy in 2014. The renowned sustainability agency ISS ESG (formerly oekom research) awarded the coveted “Prime Status” for the first time in 2021 (03/2021). This puts SaarLB in the top 10 % of banks in the “Public & Regional Banks” category in the international sustainability rating.

For SaarLB, this award demonstrates the success of its long-standing commitment to sustainable development.

Best cross-border strategy for sustainable banking France/germany

(CFI.co – Capital Finance International)

The business platform CFI (Capital Finance International), based in London, reports on topics from the global business and finance world. In addition to articles in its printed magazine, CFI also provides news, analysis and commentary on its online platform.

The award “Best Cross-Border Strategy for Sustainable Banking in France and Germany” conferred by CFI recognises SaarLB’s activities in this area both in Germany and across the border in France.

Familiy-friendly company

(Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chamber of Artisan Crafts and Saarland state government)

In 2013, the Saarland Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the Saarland Chamber of Artisan Crafts (Handwerkskammer des Saarlandes) and the Saarland state government jointly launched the “Family-Friendly Company” seal of quality, which is awarded to companies that meet certain requirements to improve work/life balance.

The Handelsblatt’s “Fair Company” employer initiative is the largest and best-known initiative in this area in Germany. We at SaarLB have always offered young people fair working conditions and also development prospects – our long-standing commitment in this area is recognised accordingly by this award.
