{"id":44753,"date":"2025-10-15T09:02:52","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T07:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saarlb.de\/an-important-step-for-green-steel-in-saarland-we-are-on-board\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T09:12:03","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T07:12:03","slug":"an-important-step-for-green-steel-in-saarland-we-are-on-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saarlb.de\/en\/an-important-step-for-green-steel-in-saarland-we-are-on-board\/","title":{"rendered":"An important step for green steel in Saarland \u2013 we are on board!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The transformation of the Saarland steel industry continues to gather pace.<\/p>\n\n<p>A consortium of 16 banks, including us as one of the core banks of SHS \u2013 Stahl-Holding-Saar, is providing around \u20ac1.7 billion in loans as part of the <strong>Power4Steel <\/strong>project.<\/p>\n\n<p>The project is the largest decarbonisation project in the European steel industry and marks the fundamental restructuring of steel production in Saarland (Dillinger, Saarstahl, ROGESA) towards low-carbon, green steel.<\/p>\n\n<p>The installation of a direct reduction plant and two electric arc furnaces will reduce SHS&#8217;s CO\u2082 emissions by around 55% by 2030, with the aim of achieving climate-neutral production by 2045.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u2018We are proud to be part of the banking consortium supporting this transformation process and thus contributing to sustainable industry, innovation and competitiveness,\u2019<\/em> said <strong>Frank Eloy, CEO of SaarLB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Photo: <b>Transformation construction site in Dillingen, image rights: SHS<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The transformation of the Saarland steel industry continues to gather pace.
