Changes can only be mastered through further development. The Saint-Avold metropolitan area is rising to the challenge and entering into synergies in order to bundle skills and maximise
mutual benefits: Together with 40 other municipalities, Saint-Avold forms a sustainable association.
Created by the merger of the two municipalities
“Pays Naborien” and “Centre Mosellan”, 41 municipalities with a total of more than 55,000 inhabitants now work together as a unit. Despite a large and steady decrease in state funding to local authorities, synergies are released within the association of municipalities through additional funding allocated due to its status as a metropolitan area. Among the tasks to be tackled are the challenges of economic and industrial development of the various business parks and the cohesion of the rural and urban areas in such a diverse association of municipalities.
Thanks to the cooperation with and the support of SaarLB, the Saint-Avold Synergie Association of Municipalities has been able to make structural investments in the operation and development of the metropolitan area.
