Over the past year, we at SaarLB and LBS, together with our employees and the Staff Council, have been able to carry out numerous charitable campaigns.
As a result, donations totalling €19,000 were collected.
During a festive handover ceremony this Tuesday, we were pleased to share this good news with the following previously selected institutions in our Franco-German border region:

“Through our joint fundraising campaigns last year, we were able to make a significant contribution to the social environment here in the Franco-German border region. Our donations honour the extraordinary voluntary commitment of the respective institutions”, said Katrin Spelz, Head of Human Resources and Communications at SaarLB.
“LBS Saar is the only building savings bank headquartered in Saarland and has traditionally had close ties with the people and the region. We have been taking part in the fundraising campaign for many years, and have already supported numerous regional and social projects,” said Sascha Matheis, spokesperson for the LBS Saar management board.
We will continue these campaigns this year so that we can continue to support institutions in our region and their commitment in the future.
WÜNSCHEWAGEN des ASB-Landesverband Saarland e.V. The “Wish Wagon” is a purely voluntary project that was launched in 2014 and is financed exclusively from donations. It enables seriously ill people of all ages throughout Germany to experience last wish journeys to a destination of their choice. To date, the almost 2,000 wish fulfilers have been able to make several thousand wishes come true. A total of 23 “Wish Wagons” are now on the road with their teams. ASB’s “Wish Wagon” was launched in Saarland at the beginning of 2018. Since then, around 220 wishes have been granted. All donations flow directly and in full into the realisation. There are currently 104 volunteers working for the Saarland “Wish Wagon” in Saarland.
Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Hospiz Saarland e.V. The LAG Hospiz Saarland e.V. was founded in January 2000; it brings together all hospice and palliative care organisations active in Saarland. The growing number of hospice initiatives, groups and associations has made it necessary to bundle the strengths of hospice work through co-operation and networking. In this way, the concerns of the hospice movement can be specifically positioned socially and politically. In addition to 14 outpatient services, the LAG now also includes an outpatient children’s hospice service, four palliative care units, a multi-age palliative care unit, a palliative paediatric crisis intervention unit, a palliative medical consultation service, five teams for specialised outpatient palliative care (SAPV), including one SAPV team for children, a palliative care facility for inpatient elderly care and five inpatient hospices.
Förderverein Ehrensache e.V. On 25 April 2010, Petra Jenal founded the association Ehrensache e.V. The association supports people with disabilities. The association has set itself the goal of bringing riding therapy closer to the public and making such therapy possible for as many disabled children as possible. The organisation also provides equipment for riders and horses.
Jahre „Hilf-Mit!“ der Saarbrücker-Zeitung The SZ Hilf-Mit! campaign was launched in 1973 as a unique initiative by the editorial team of the Saarbrücker Zeitung. Originally it was purely a Christmas campaign, but over the years it has developed into a year-round aid campaign that supports many people in need in the Saarland. In 1995, an important change took place: the campaign became the non-profit organisation Hilf-Mit Saarbrücker Zeitung e.V. Hilf-Mit! supports people who find themselves in difficult situations through no fault of their own and who live in the Saarbrücker Zeitung’s circulation area. We are also committed to charitable projects that have a positive impact on the lives of many people. The Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe is a co-operation partner of the campaign.
Saarländische Krebsgesellschaft e.V. „Projekt Regenbogen“ The Saarland Cancer Society supports the Rainbow Project for children of parents with cancer. It supports children, young people and the whole family in this stressful life situation and gives families support, confidence and trust.
CINE de Bussiere “Strasbourg Initiation Nature Environnement” was founded in 2000 and aims to raise awareness of nature and the environment among the inhabitants of Bussiere and the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg. It also coordinates the implementation of inter-association projects that are enriched by the expertise of nature and environmental organisations in the area.
