- Annual General Meeting votes in favor of preferred candidate
SaarLB has realigned its management structure and found a successor for Dr. Thomas Bretzger, who will step down as Chairman of the Board of Management in 2025. Dr. Jochen Sutor will take over from Dr. Bretzger, who is scheduled to leave the Franco-German state bank after more than seven years.
SaarLB’s Annual General Meeting today voted in favor of Dr. Jochen Sutor, 51, who has a successful track record in the banking and finance industry, having served as CFO and later Chief Risk Officer at LeasePlan Corporation N.V., as Chief Credit Officer at Mercedes-Benz Bank AG and as Divisional Board Member for Finance at Commerzbank AG.
“With Dr. Sutor, we are gaining an experienced leader who not only has in-depth expertise but will also continue to expand SaarLB’s strategic position with a clear view of future challenges and opportunities,” said Jan-Christian Dreesen, Chairman of SaarLB’s Board of Administration.
“We are pleased to have found an excellent executive in Dr. Jochen Sutor to succeed Dr. Thomas Bretzger. With his impressive CV and the experience he has gained, he is ideally placed to continue SaarLB’s successful course as Chairman of the Board of Management,” said Jakob von Weizsäcker, a member of SaarLB‘s General Meeting.
“We congratulate Dr. Sutor on his new position at SaarLB and wish him every success in his future role,” said Cornelia Hoffmann-Bethscheider, Chair of SaarLB’s Annual General Meeting.
