With the Welcome Day, our bank has introduced a new format that offers new employees a dedicated space for personal exchange, networking and appreciation.
All colleagues who have joined our organization within the past three months are invited to participate. Regardless of their individual start date, the Welcome Day provides an opportunity to share initial experiences, build connections and gain a broader understanding of the bank.
A Format Initiated by the Talent Class
The idea for the Welcome Day originated within our Talent Class. The underlying observation was clear: new employees join at different times, across various departments, and often without direct contact with one another. At the same time, there is a strong need for exchange, orientation and networking – beyond departmental and hierarchical boundaries. The Welcome Day creates a deliberately designed, in-person space to address these needs.
Objectives of the Welcome Day
The Welcome Day aims to promote networking between new and existing employees, encourage open dialogue around early experiences, and visibly demonstrate appreciation for new colleagues. By involving representatives from Human Resources, leadership teams and a member of the Board Management, barriers – particularly across hierarchical levels – are intentionally reduced.
Agenda and Outlook
The Welcome Day did begin with a welcome from the Talent Class and the Human Resources department. An input session by our Chairman of the Board of Management Dr. Jochen Sutor opened the content-related exchange, followed by a round of introductions where participants could get to know one another personally. The program is complemented by a presentation of the bank, an interactive icebreaker and a shared lunch, providing space for informal conversations.
Going forward, the Welcome Day will be held quarterly and represents an important building block of our welcoming and corporate culture, which is based on openness, dialogue and mutual appreciation.
