Joint press conference of the Saar Savings Banks Association: Discussion on key issues for the future
At this year’s joint press conference of the Saar Savings Banks Association, held last Friday at the Halberg in Saarbrücken, the focus was on current developments and key issues for the future of the Savings Banks Financial Group.
Joined on the panel by representatives from the media, the President of the Saar Savings Banks Association, Cornelia Hoffmann-Bethscheider, the Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Saarbrücken and also Regional Chairman of the Saarland savings banks, Frank Saar, the Chairman of the Board of SAARLAND Versicherung, Dr Dirk Hermann, the management of LBS Saar, Nathalie Elz and our Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr Jochen Sutor, discussed key challenges and prospects for the region. The panel discussion was complemented by the board members of all other Saarland savings banks.
We at SaarLB also contributed our perspective to the discussion: our Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr Jochen Sutor, outlined the bank’s activities in the local authority sector and presented selected transactions relevant to the Franco-German Greater Region. Furthermore, he assessed current developments in the property markets in Germany and France from SaarLB’s perspective.
The event highlighted the importance of close dialogue within the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and with the public. At the same time, it demonstrated that many of the topics discussed extend far beyond the region and provide important impetus for further development.
