Project financing for renewable energy – our specialism
The use of renewable energy sources such as wind power, solar power and battery storage, together with the systematic improvement of energy efficiency, form the cornerstones of a sustainable energy supply in Europe.
SaarLB specialises in project financing for renewable energy and supports projects with investment values ranging from EUR 10 million to 80 million – particularly in the fields of wind energy and photovoltaics.
Our focus is on Germany and France. In these countries, we have financed over 500 wind and solar projects for international project developers and investors, with a total investment volume of €8.7 billion – and since 2019, we have also been involved in our first projects in the Netherlands.
In total, projects with a nominal capacity of around 5.7 GW have been completed. The financing of these carbon-free technologies enables a reduction of around 9.8 million tonnes of CO₂ per year.
